Moscow has suggested it will attack European countries that allow Ukraine to use their airspace to send drones to attack Russia.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Moscow would respond if other nations allow Ukraine to use their airspace to launch drone attacks on Russian Baltic ports.

Kyiv has stepped up attacks on Russia's oil export infrastructure over the past month, launching its heaviest drone strikes of the more than four-year war against the Baltic ports of Ust-Luga and Primorsk.

Peskov said work was under way to secure all critical infrastructure, but facilities could not be 100% protected.

Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine was ready to reciprocate if Russia stopped attacking the Ukrainian energy system and that Kyiv was open to an Easter ceasefire.

Sources said the US relayed the message to Kyiv after initial “signals” came from Moscow, which is looking to protect its oil and gas infrastructure while the Middle East conflict renders energy expensive.

Zelensky said he “shared our experience with the Black Sea corridor and how it operates” with officials during his visit to the Middle East.
